What is LAMDA?
Hyde Academy's public speaking courses are accredited by The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Founded in 1861, LAMDA is one of the UK's oldest and most respected drama schools, with a global reputation for excellence in performance and communication.
Its graduates work across the West End, Broadway, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, film, and television.
LAMDA's examinations bring that tradition of excellence into a structured qualification for young people.

Three Pathways
1. Speaking in Public
Students are trained to prepare and deliver speeches, becoming confident disovering, researching, and speaking on topics that spark their interest.
2. Speaking Prose and Verse
Students are trained to prepare and perform verse and from Shakespeare to contemporary. We recommend this pathway for students looking to excel in english and public school entrance exams.
3. Reading for Performance
A mixture of pathways 1 and 2, where students are trained to prepare their own analysis of a section verse and prose they are asked to perform
LAMDA develops the skills ambitious students need to speak with confidence, express ideas clearly and command an audience, and excel in both formal and informatl situations.
Progress through recognised LAMDA qualifications, with regulated Level 3 qualifications at Grades 6+ attracting UCAS Tariff points, essential for UK university entrance
