16+ Entrance Preparation
The 16+ examination is the final entry point into UK senior schools and typically leads directly into A-Level or IB study. Assessments are academically demanding and often include subject-specific written exams, interviews and GCSE performance requirements.

What is the 16+
entrance exam
16+ entrance assessments are usually taken in Year 11, with exam dates commonly set in October or November. Candidates are assessed in subjects aligned with their intended Sixth Form subject choices. International applicants may also be required to sit an additional English assessment.
Many leading independent schools make offers conditional based on candidates’ entrance assessment and strong GCSE predicted results.
